SQUEAKY WHEEL ADVOCACY AWARD

The SC Independent Living Council is looking for nominations for the Squeaky Wheel Disability Advocacy Award; a SOUTH CAROLINA INDIVIDUAL with or without a disability and / or a SOUTH CAROLINA ORGANIZATION that serves individuals with disabilities that has gone over and above the call of duty of self-advocacy or systems advocacy.
Ordinary advocacy involves face to face contact with a manager / supervisor or person in authority, including but not limited to phone calls, e-mails, or faxes. The Squeaky Wheel advocate uses one or more of these in a combined approach. If these do not work, the Squeaky Wheel does not hesitate to write editorials, approach others for support or goes public with their dissatisfaction.
